EZ Caregiver™ was developed specifically to improve resident comfort, with our belief that seniors shouldn’t feel like prisoners in a care facility with locked doors.
Residents want to feel like they are at home, not in an institution. FIRETEC recognizes the acute sense of loss a senior feels when they have to leave their comfortable and familiar home surroundings and move into care.
Keys to Independence
We start with the EZ Key™. Like keys to a house, this is an easy solution that allows residents regular movement and independence. It’s remarkably simple. Equip each resident with a wireless key that fits on any keychain, wear it as a pendant or even a bracelet. Without being taken out of a pocket, doors the resident is allowed to pass through will open by proximity, up to 15 feet away.
The EZ Key™ allows wheelchair-bound residents hands-free, unsupervised movement. It opens doors the resident is welcome to enter, such as an exercise room.
Like all our technology, the EZ Key™ has a built-in wireless help button that works anywhere within the facility and grounds. The discreet emergency alert will summon immediate assistance, in any manner the facility desires—text, email, phone, pager—also reporting the resident’s location.
Residents appreciate the idea they can lock their own rooms so that only authorized nursing staff and their own EZ Key™ will open the door. This prevents other patients from wandering in, and offers a sense of security for a resident’s personal space and possessions.

EZ Keep™ gives residents freedom of movement to approved locations within the facility, yet provides continuous monitoring of the resident’s location. Care staff are alerted when a resident wanders accidentally through an exit or door. The wrist watch tag is washable and tamper proof. EZ Keep™ is a cost-effective, dignified solution that keeps memory-challenged residents safe.

EZ Keep™ reduces the workload required to keep track of chronic wanderers. Staff members, facility visitors and other residents can move freely; only the wandering patient encounters locked doors. Most importantly, EZ Pass™ has a discreet and unnoticeable emergency distress button on the back of the tag. Unobtrusively in a duress situation, a staff member can push the button and have security alerted to the location of the incident.

Resident phones that do so much more
Our big-button telephone, EZ Dial™, is remarkably easy to use considering it’s really a sophisticated emergency communications system with two way voice integrations. The commercial-grade speakerphone answers five preset numbers automatically. It has three programmable emergency keys and is fully integrated with all of our EZ Caregiver technology.
Let’s take a look at this common nursing home scenario. Mrs. Miller, an elderly resident, stumbles and falls on route to the washroom. She pushes the help button on her EZ Key™ pendant. A text message goes immediately to her nurse, Sue. Sue calls Mrs. Miller on her room phone, the EZ Dial™, sitting beside the bed. Mrs. Miller can’t get to the phone, but that’s okay.
The speaker phone answers automatically. With a very sensitive microphone, the nurse hears Mrs. Miller crying for help and rushes to the room. If Mrs. Miller is in a different room, that’s no problem. Her location is automatically reported with the distress call. As an added feature, residents can use the phone to check the daily menu or activities list with one button touch.
The best feature of EZ Dial™ is its ability to pay for and fund itself. By directly supplying resident telephone lines, FIRETEC creates a self-sustaining revenue generator for the care facility, with added monthly positive cash flow from long distance and monthly phone line rental.
On the go communications
Today’s caregivers are busy and it’s a challenge to keep up with resident needs. EZ Call™ offers a powerful software application that can interface with existing wireless telephone systems and every one of the EZ Caregiver products. EZ Call™ can utilize our partner NEC’s communication devices including the Messenger M155, which is phone, messenger and panic button all in one, along with their high-quality wireless handset products.
