How Elpas Nurse Call Works

Patients are issued Elpas Active RFID Pendants or Wrist Bands that feature wireless call functionality. In the event of an emergency the patient simply presses the device’s call button.

A fixed Elpas Ethernet/Wi-Fi Infrastructure installed throughout the facility  receives the patient’s emergency call  and  relays this location& ID data to the Eiris Tracking & Management Platform.

Eiris nurse stations display the real-time locations of the patients requiring assistance, graphically overlaid on hospital floor plans and provide interactive screens for managing the lifecycle of  the received patient calls. Eiris also supports robust alert and paging options thatdelivers the patient’s call, 24hrs-a-day to the right responder no matter where the caregiver happens to be.

Outdoor RF IP Reader

The Outdoor RF IP Reader is a supervised, indoor/outdoor 433MHz RTLS receiver. The reader delivers the functionality as an EZ Pass Local Controller and serves as a RS-485 BUS Master.

High-Power Low Frequency Exciter

The EZ Pass™ High-Power LF Exciter is engineered to emit spherical, low-power electromagnetic fields (125 KHz), up to 5 m (15 ft) in radius. These harmless LF fields are user-adjustable so that they can be tuned to precisely cover most interior or exterior building exits and entrances.

The exciter includes a UHF (433.92MHz) transmitter, which continuously broadcasts real-time device supervision alert messages for keeping repair personnel informed of possible maintenance issues related to the device.

Enclosed in a IP-65 water-rated enclosure, the exciter can be wall, ceiling or post- mounted and is deployable as a single standalone device (designed to cover large interior single or double doorways) or in a flexible master–slave configuration (suitable for coverage of large, open interior or exterior spaces).


All Weather Asset Tracking Tag

The EZ Find™ All Weather Asset Tracking Tag is an all weather, extended-range, Active Radio Frequency (RFID) device. The tag is designed for the real-time monitoring of assets in large indoor/outdoor storage and transportation facilities.

The tag’s onboard transmitter emits continuously low power, beacon type radio frequency (RF) messages that can be used to identify the exact real-time location of the asset with unparalleled reliability and precision in real-time. When attached to the asset; the tag also transmits alert notifications for keeping security personnel informed of deliberate and/or unintentional tampering. The tag also features an onboard; 2-axis, power-switching; miniature accelerometer for optimizing alerting reliability in severe environmental weather conditions such as heavy rain and hail.

Designed for harsh indoor/outdoor environments, the tag’s solid state electronics is housed in an epoxy potted, IP-67 rated, weatherproof thermoplastic casing. The design ensures years of maintenance free deployments and consistent UHF (433.92MHz) transmissions up to 100m/330ft (360° coverage area).

One tamper plate, two 2.9mm/0.11inch x 13 self-drilling screws, two 3.9mm/0.15inch x 25 self-drilling screws, two M4 flat washers and two M4 helical spring lock washers are included with each tag.

Resident phones that do so much more

Our big-button telephone, EZ Dial™, is remarkably easy to use considering it’s really a sophisticated emergency communications system with two way voice integrations. The commercial-grade speakerphone answers five preset numbers automatically. It has three programmable emergency keys and is fully integrated with all of our EZ Care technology.

Let’s take a look at this common nursing home scenario. Mrs. Miller, an elderly resident, stumbles and falls on route to the washroom. She pushes the help button on her EZ Key™ pendant. A text message goes immediately to her nurse, Sue. Sue calls Mrs. Miller on her room phone, the EZ Dial™, sitting beside the bed. Mrs. Miller can’t get to the phone, but that’s okay.

The speaker phone answers automatically. With a very sensitive microphone, the nurse hears Mrs. Miller crying for help and rushes to the room. If Mrs. Miller is in a different room, that’s no problem. Her location is automatically reported with the distress call. As an added feature, residents can use the phone to check the daily menu or activities list with one button touch.
